Catholic Sisters in the Legal Profession Registered Trustees (CASILEP) was officially launched in Nairobi, Kenya, marking a significant milestone in the legal empowerment and professional networking of Catholic sisters across the region.

CASILEP is a newly formed network designed to support consecrated women religious with legal resources, guidance, and advocacy in both canonical and civil law matters, strengthening their mission and institutional sustainability.

The ceremony began with a solemn Holy Mass, presided over by His Grace Archbishop Philip Arnold Subira Anyolo, Metropolitan Archbishop of Nairobi, who led the congregation in prayer and reflection for the success and integrity of the programme.

During the Mass, participating sisters took their oath of service and signed pledges of confidentiality, dedication, and commitment to uphold the highest standards of mission and service within CASILEP.

    Distinguished guests and partners joined the occasion, including:

  • Sr. Pasilisia Namikoye, Executive Secretary of the Association of Sisterhoods of Kenya (AOSK), whose leadership continues to strengthen networks and missions of Catholic sisters across Kenya.

  • Sr. Agnes Njeri, Program Officer, Catholic Sisters Initiative, Africa, representing the Conrad N. Hilton Foundation, a key global partner supporting the work and leadership of Catholic sisters.

  • Sr. Luciana Wanyahoro, Director of Chemichemi ya Uzima College (AOSK initiative for formation and education development).

  • Members of the CASILEP Board and Trustees, and other notable guests, collaborators, and stakeholders committed to legal empowerment, institutional strengthening, and mission support for sisters across ministries.

This launch event highlights a new chapter of legal empowerment and strategic support for Catholic sisters, enhancing their ability to serve with dignity, resilience, and integrity in communities throughout Kenya and beyond.
